Naruto Shippuden Filler Episodes: Informative or Irritating?

Naruto Shippuden filler episodes

Naruto Shippuden is flocking up with filler episodes as the series advances. Whenever, the story gears up according to the manga, the production team is desperate enough to add filler arc to Naruto Shippudden. Surely, the Naruto Shippuden filler episodes are aimed at delaying the series while the manga story is built. But, at the same time, they should be intriguing and informative. And, the last few fillers are really not able to build that connection.

Naruto has been known for fillers. In Naruto, the Naruto filler episodes have lasted as long as four seasons. Compared to that, Shippuden is a kiddo for now. And, the producers have also changed their strategy about showing fillers. In Naruto, they showed it at a stretch. But, they are adding them between the main storyline in Shippuden. No doubt, this is a better approach. But, the Naruto Shippuden filler episodes released recently are a bit inappropriate. I must admit that ‘The Chikara arc’ was quite satisfactory. And, after the news came that the fillers would finally end in january, 2013, I was really excited to see original storyline when Naruto joins the war. But, I was disappointed again when ‘The Extensions to the War Arc’ was reintroduced in 303. It is planned to last till episode 306.

There have been some nice filler arcs in Naruto Shippuden too. The very first filler of Naruto Shippuden, ‘Guren Saga’ was one of the best Naruto Shippuden filler episodes of the series. The Crystal Style jutsu of Guren was quite scintillating. She is the only filler character that has been impressing. And, ‘Chikara arc’ has also been impressing with a good story and nice fighting scenes. After that, some of the single Naruto Shippuden filler episodes have been really fun to watch. For instance, ‘Naruto’s favorite Pupil’ was amusing. Just before when Jiraya went to fight pain, ‘Tails of a Gutsy Ninja’ was released. And, it was really nice to see “classic” Jiraya. My favourite one is ‘Fight Rock Lee‘. The cool medicine Lee was back in that episode. Rock Lee has been the most inspiring and hilarious character in Naruto. And, I loved watching that.

Apart from these, there are one or two single episode filler that have managed to win hearts. Rest of them have disappointed the Naruto fans as we want to see the real manga story in anime. Masashi Kishimoto has done an awesome job at intriguing all the Naruto fans in his manga releases. And, we all are very excited every week to read the next chapter. But, who are we kidding? The real fun lies in anime when we witness the black and white pages of manga in action. So, I think that the Naruto Shippuden filler episodes have been more irritating rather than being informative.
